The thing about art and artists that gets me

It just bugs me that in life someone will always be much better at something then you. There are so many artists who i think are amazing and talented but then it makes me think about how so untalented and unamazing my own work is. And art! ugh there are so many kinds of art and I'm an artists myself, yet i can say that i am not a fan of a lot of forms of art. I don't like art museums or staring at paintings unless i really love and admire them. It has to be the type of art that i like, though I'm sure it's like that for everyone.

I feel like there's always a silent competition between artists, whether friend or stranger to see who really is the best, and i hate that. I can admit when someone is better than me and compliment that person, but i still feel lame. It just makes me want to improve more and be better, even though that person will still have a different art style than me. But at the same time that's the thing i love about art, that no two people draw the same, and most people have their own drawing style. I also love that when you're inspired by another artists work it's okay to look at how they draw something and maybe take it and mold it so it works for you! you're inspired by something they do, yet you take it and make it your own. I think it's important to compliment other peoples work and to search for other artists who you admire and are inspired by because it motivates and encourages you to become a successful artist yourself.

what to save up for this coming year?

so now after seeing how beautiful digital art is i have now resolved to download a few programs and utilities needed to practice. but of course first i have to find another job closer to home, and i also have so many things on my list it's gonna be pretty hard. BUT here it is:
1.) Intuos4 Large Pen Tablet, basically $ 500 or a bamboo create which is basically $ 200

2.) Paint tool SAI, which is $69, basically $70 or there's painter 12 which is $ 360! but definately cheaper then the expensive price of  photo shop, which is $ 700!
3.) and that's about it for drawing, except for how to books
4.) I'd also like to buy a car, specifically a VW bug convertible, 26,000
5.)I really need a new digital camera, i WANT a nikon 1, but there like $ 700! so i just want a cute pink one!
anyways so that's all i really REALLY want, and in order to get that I'll have to find a job and THEN save up, while also saving up for europe this summer, AND just new clothes  :p

if anyone has any tips about what tablet to buy please let me know! :)

soo! an artist that i just discovered is Loish. i think her work is amazing! i like how she uses bright colors, and her shading is awesome, it makes me want to learn how to use photo shop! i also like her work because she mainly draws girls and or women in cute outfits and poses (though her men are great too) and that's something I've always tried to do! now i think its great that shes successful because I'm horrible at drawing the opposite sex, but every artist is different so i know i may not be so successful because of course my characters aren't as cute as loish's! but anyways i love her work and she's a great artist.

the 3rd time around

ok, so once again i tried coloring in another drawing, and i really like it! but I''m thinking maybe now I'll try outlining them in a darker skin color instead of black. This girl isn't supposed to be black, i want to try coloring them and drawing them to make them different ethnicities, so well see  how it goes.

OK, so here's Bella Blog! it took me forever to get her right and yea I'm not quite sure if i like her, but she's cute! yay! I'm so proud! :)

OMG check out my header!

sooo today was the first time I've ever tried coloring in one of my drawings on the computer and im so proud of the results! now i know it's still a bit iffy but i'm really proud of it. Her name (the girl) is Bella blog and she's going to be my blogs mascot/resident character, i drew a bigger picture of her just so it's easier to see what she looks like, but i haven't started coloring it so I'll start and upload that soon.  :)   :)

I'm just so happy! :)  so i wouldn't have tried coloring her in on the comp without the inspiration from other artists nor would i have thought to add certain features to bella's face such as: the shiny circle on her nose, the darker skin color on her nose so that hopefully one day soon when you see her you wont need the black line to establish where her nose starts! as well as just adding more details in darker or lighter colors, so I'm not relying on certain details needed to be drawn just right in order for them to be noticeable.
